Description

Application

 

Outdoor heat shrink termination for XLPE medium voltage cables. For installations exposed to sun radiations and all environmental conditions. A version for high polluted ambient is also available, on request.

 

 

Technical characteristics

 

The electrical stress control is realized with a heat shrink tube “GT1” that reduces the effect of the electrical gradient at the edge of the semicon layer of the cable in order to maintain the security of operations.

The insulation is assured with an antitracking heat shrink tube “GT2” that can withstand continuous electrical stresses and superficial contaminations without decreasing its performance and providing an excellent resitance against UV radiations. The superficial creepage length is increased by an appropriate number of heat shrink sheds. The kit contains all the elements to restore the electrical conductivity of the aluminium armour (tin-plated copper braids and stainless steel clips).
